Georgia Lane Reidy – Narrative CV
Georgia Lane Reidy is an artist based in New York City. Her practice encompasses sculptural and functional ceramics, with a focus on experimental processes, material exploration, and studio-based mentorship. Reidy has gained extensive professional experience supporting and collaborating with leading artists and institutions.
She currently works as a Ceramic Studio Assistant for William Coggin in New York, contributing to the fabrication of large-scale ceramic furniture and sculptural installations. In this role, she constructs coils and slabs, mixes and tests glazes, maintains studio operations, and collaborates closely with the artist and team to execute ambitious projects from concept to completion.
Previously, Reidy served as a Studio Assistant at Greenwich House Pottery, where she managed daily operations, prepared materials and kilns, and assisted students in class and private lessons. She supported the sales of tools and enrollment in classes, contributing to the studio’s outreach and revenue growth.
As a Resident Ceramic Artist at Salem Art Works, Reidy completed personal projects, organized and supervised wood firings across three wood kilns, and engaged in communal artist life, demonstrating both technical expertise and collaborative skills.
Reidy has also contributed to the work of Tamiko Kawata, assisting in the production of the Safety Pin series and refurbishing site-specific installations, highlighting her attention to detail and commitment to sustaining artistic integrity.
In addition to her studio work, Reidy has a strong background in education. She served as Lead Art Teacher at the High School of the Liberal Arts, where she taught Visual Arts 100, 200, and AP Studio Art classes, led curriculum development, and mentored National Arts Club members.
Her work has been included in multiple exhibitions, including Student Salon 2023 and 2024 at the Art Students League of New York, ‘Understanding Chickpeas’ at Salem Art Works (2023), Gallery Vestibule exhibitions at Greenwich House Pottery (2024–2025), Artifacts at AM Collective x COLA Studios (2025), and 198 Gallery, New York (2025).
